The program consists of twelve hundred (1200) hours of instruction in the art, science, and business of professional beauty care. A comprehensive, full-service approach, applicable in today´s modern salon environment is stressed. The student will receive instruction in “theory” (textbook/classroom), “practical” and “clinical” experiences on actual patrons.
There is no previous knowledge of any aspect of cosmetology that is required or assumed. Students learn through a combination of lectures, demonstrations and hands on practical experiences on mannequins. Opportunity is also provided for students to practice on each other, so as to offer a more realistic experience and exemplify the importance of good grooming for the cosmetologist.
The student learning activities take place in the lecture room, classroom, and the “Beauty Clinic”. Along with continued theory and mannequin assignment, the students perform beauty services of all kinds, upon paying patron. The “Clinic”, while still a controlled educational environment, strives to reflect as realistically as possible, a modern salon environment. During this phrase of the course, the student is guided in gaining experiences designed not only to develop and perfect the skills previously and acquired, bit to aid in the development of the speed, confidence, salesmanship, customer relations skills and professionalism, required for success in a professional salon environment.
The program consists of twelve hundred (1200) hours of theory & practical skills necessary to become a barber/stylist in the State of Florida. The program is designed to develop the student´s integrity and motivation in order for them to become successful barber/stylist. Every effort is made to ensure that each student receives a well-balance training, responding to the need of the industry. Florida Academy will be mixing traditional barber training, as well as today´s modern hair styling techniques to ensure that our student will be on the cutting edge of the barber industry.
This course consists of six hundred (600) hours, which combines the knowledge of two disciplines, Facial, Specialist and Nail Technician. The students will develop skills in facial techniques, hair removal, makeup applications, manicure, pedicure, nail art and artificial nail work. Upon successful completion and will be registered with the state for licensing.
The course consists of two hundred and forty hours (240) of instruction in the art science and business of professional nail care. A comprehensive, full-service approach applicable in today´s modern salon environment is stressed. Basic manicuring, pedicuring, nail tipping and wrapping as well as nail sculpting are covered. The student will receive instruction in “theory” (textbook/lecture oriented material), “classroom/practical” and “clinical” experiences and actual patrons. During this course, the student is guided in gaining experience designed not only to develop and perfect the skills previously acquires, but also to pay in the development of the speed, confidence, salesman ship, and customer relation skills and professionalism required for success in a salon environment.
The Skin Care program consists of three hundred (300) clock hours that include a minimum of 150 clock hours of technical instruction and practical operations covering all practices constituting of spa therapies, basic aroma therapy and hair removal.
This program combines training of basic approach to skin care with other valuable training areas of hair removal, make-up artistry, spa therapies, basic therapeutic massage techniques, aromatherapy and general business development.
Graduates will be prepared for the exciting field of skin care and its allied therapies as entry level Registered Skin Care Technician.
After successfully completing the Skin Care program as described above, the student can apply to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
The permanent Make-up program consists of forty (40)clock hours that include technical instructions and practical operations covering all aspects of Permanent Make-up and opportunity for the student to acquire the necessary skills through practical applications developed under the supervision of the school´s instructors.
The student will learn the art of Permanent Make-up in the areas of eyebrows, eyeliners (upper and lower), and lips, theory of anatomy and physiology, hygiene grooming, sanitation and sterilization, safety equipment, ethics, business practice, and hands on practice.
A Department of Health approved blood-bone pathogens and communicable diseases course is required to be completed before a student can obtain their tattoo license in the State of Florida.
2 hrs after eyelashes extension treatment / Do not allow water to contact lashes.
2 days after eyelashes extension / Do not steam face, use steam bath, swim or wash face with hot water.
Do not use mascara on fake eyelashes, as make/up remover will affect the bondling of fake eyelashes.
Do not perm fake eyelashes.
Do not use a lash curler, as it will break both fake eyelashes and natural lashes.
Do not rub eyes or fake eyelashes when washing face. Always pat dry lashes after cleansing.
COMMON REASONS LASHES FALL OFF
Mascara residue on eyelashes will compromise the contact area between eyelashes and fake eyelashes.
